Mechanik at Work

*Ian McLaw approaches the guildhouse dressed in heavy, greasestained coveralls. He is followed by a pair of gobbers carrying sacks of spare parts and a steam jack that they deactivate once they arrive. Ian has a good look at the damaged entry door as he calls in.*

"Yuri, Its McLaw from Superior Mechanika!"

*Aranel saunters up to the doorway and leans on the arch. He looks the wreckage over as he takes a cigarette out of his pocket.*

"Pretty messed up." He says, indicating the damage with the cigarette. "How long do you think this'll take?"

"Looks like a full days work."

*He has his men start taking measurements as he takes notes.*

"Repair cost is going to be 120 gold. I've been contracted by the Crucible before so I can take a signature of authorisation and bring it to the bank later. I'm also supposed to be giving a quote for construction of a cell."

*Aranel nods.*

"Someone else can sign for that. I doubt my signature is what you're looking for. So what's your quote for the cell? Or haven't you been given the dimensions yet."

"I'll need to see the dimensions and take materials with Yuri."

"Ah, I see. Why do you need to take Yuri with the materials?"

"Excuse my Llaelese... the right word is talk? The are a number of options based on materials we will be using. It is possible to incorporate some complex mechanika into the workings if he likes. My business partner can even provide alchemical components. An example would be arming the cage with Ashes of Urcean, a material that is known to repel incorporeal entities."

"Seems like a good measure. Throw that in when you give Yuri the bill of sale."

*Aranel tosses the unlit cigarette to the mechanik and heads inside.*
