A Noose for the Guy

(takes place 5 days before the start of the next game)

News spreads around the city that two bodies were found in attached apartments in the East River Residential District. The rumor is that both men appear to have been hung alive and left to choke.

Later the same day printed notices begin to circulate the city:

Ertid Heinrich. Crimes: Pillaging of Llael. Murder of Llaelese soldiers and civilians. Use of unnecessarily cruel weapons. Punishment: Death by hanging.
Cuso Heinrich. Crimes: Pillaging of Llael. Murder of Llaelese soldiers and civilians. Impurification of Llaelese bloodline. Punishment: Castration followed by death by hanging.

The next day rumors spread that another body has been found, hung in the same fashion. Another set of printed notices appear:

Carlin Roseburn. Crimes: Cowardice. Failure to uphold the duties of an officer. Punishment: Death by hanging.

The next day rumors spread that a small riot broke out after dark near the Gearhead Tavern. Civilians turned on a deputy who attempted an arrest. He was clubbed to death before other deputies could disperse the crowd. No arrest has been made.

Overnight an alchemy lab in the West River Industrial District is broken into and raided. The Sheriff announces that the public should watch for groups transporting crates of alchemical grenades. Wanted posters for Hal Hemlock are put up by deputies across the city offering 400 gold for his capture.

On the last day a body is found in the West River Residential District, hung by the cathedral's fountains. He is indentified as a precursor knight who retired due to his age. Unlike the other victims so far he was beaten so severely he was only identified by the ring he was wearing.

Printed notices appear again:

People of NewKatrena. You have achieved the first great victory on your road to freedom. Route the traitors and oppressors from your midst and I will lead you to glory. We remember a free Llael. By our swords and our nooses our children will remember a Free Llael too!

Later that day the sheriff releases notices:

Hal Hemlock is a murdering bastard who should have died along with Llael. Those following him will be given no mercy. I have authorised my deputies to use lethal force against any 'resistance' fighters. This will be your only warning. The bounty on Hal Hemlock has been increased to 1000 gold. A new bounty of 100 gold is being offered the capture of a living resistance soldier. If you have connections to Khador or Cygnar you should get yourself armor and a weapon. The Duke has ordered a 25% discount be given to civilians fearing for their life. Lock your doors at night, barricade your windows. As always my deputies are out patroling; now in increased force. Order, law, and justice will be upheld.
